This presentation will address the effects of the newly increased minimum wage\, the new "fair pay" laws\, and the status of the increase in salary threshold for overtime exemptions. It will also address court rulings on required seats for employees and proper payment of commissioned and piece-rate workers. Also addressed will be proposed legislation this year that would expand "baby-bonding" leave\, would require employers to offer more hours to part-time workers before hiring more employees\, and prohibiting asking job applicants about their criminal history.
